SEMI PRECIOUS GEMSTONES

Semi Precious gemstones are very in this summer, If you havnt noticed in most of the jewellery I make www.lucindabijoux.co.uk I use a lot of gemstones...I am obsessed! I love knowing all the meanings. Each of my gemstone pieces comes with a card which tells the meanings.

My favourites are Amethyst- Stone of power, protection and healing. Turquoise- Stone of luck and protection. Rose Quartz- Stone of love.

JEWELLERY MADE FROM SILVER SPOONS

Another one to add to the unusual materials list...

Watches, bracelets, necklaces, earrings and rings made from SPOONS! Good idea, collecting loads of spoons and bending them into rings and stuff... I've been looking at the Silver Spoon Jewellery collection, Ooohh lush!  

                                                                                                                

LE SOUS BOIS COLLECTION

Le sous bois- meaning undergrowth in a forest, is the new collection from Paris jewellery designer Aude Lechere who has recently teamed up with Baccarat.

The idea of this new collection is to portray both the light and darkness of the forest through the jewellery using crystal. With that idea, I can just about imagine what they're on about...
It kind of works, the necklace below makes me think of tree sap turning into amber in the darkness of the forest with a shimmer of sunlight shining through the branches of a tree...

KATE HUDSONS JEWELLERY COLLECTION

Kate Hudson has just designed her first ever jewellery collection in collaboration with her long time friend Laurie Lynn Stark, co-owner of Chrome Hearts. Her new collection is a light bohemian style which I can imagine mixing quite well with that Gothic-biker inspired jewellery that Chrome Hearts designs.


Her collection will include a nice range of 22-Karat gold bohemian pieces featuring peridot, citrine gemstones and fresh water pearls.

A lot of her pieces from her new collection are styled to look bohemian, but i think they also have a very Victorian, antique look about them!

I don't like the high bit of that necklace so much, looks too Victorian...

But I love love love this ring and the gemstones used... Gemstones are very in this summer!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 



SWAROVSKI PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN

Anyone else a Pirates of the Caribbean fan like moi? Although I didn't like the newest film so much... But check out these limited online edition Swarovski jewellery, inspired by Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. NEWCASTLE GREEN FESTIVAL

Oooh excited to have my stall at the Newcastle Community Green Festival. Last year was class, just hope the weather stays nice for it this time! Its on the 4th and 5th of June, So everyone get ya selves down and have a look around the Lucinda Bijoux stall! There will be lots of beautiful one-off pieces of jewellery at great prices!   

ANGELINA JOLIE COLLECTION

Angelina at the 2011 Cannes film festival wearing a pair of lush 10-carat D-colour white diamond, cushion earrings set in yellow gold from her Style of Jolie collection.

She has recently just collaborated with jewellery designer Robert Procop to put forth ‘The Style of Jolie’ jewellery collection.I was looking through a few pictures of her collection and they're all pretty amazing. All designs are made using massive gemstones and diamonds!

                                                                                                                                                          

I like her new collection, its a very classy mix and gives that minimal elegance look. Her latest piece from the collection designed by Robert Procop was the amazing diamond choker in the film 'The Tourist' made from an antique tiara and lots of diamonds!

                                                                                                                  

                                      



SWAROVSKI RUNWAY ROCKS

I want to wear one of these amazing Swarovski covered outfits! I love the first image, of a form-fitting suit which portrays a stylized version of the body's organs covered in Swarovski jewels!
Its quite an old picture back from London jewellery week in 2008 but I love it!

and this one... Designed by Collado Garcia- ' This is the look of an intergalactic creature who found her way into a dragon's lair, fell asleep on a nest made of precious stones and woke up with the gems fused onto her skin.'  Love it!

UNUSUAL INGREDIENTS FOR JEWELLERY!

TEETH!

I came across this designer on Etsy called Vanderglas and I have to say, this is one of the most bizarre, yet cool, yet pretty gross ring designs I've seen for a while. It consists of three human teeth, bezel set on to a sterling silver ring. Im not sure if I would wear it, knowing someone elses old teeth are wrapped around my finger, but it looks good!

Barbie Body Parts!

Jewellery made from barbie body parts! Check out these weird and wonderful pieces of jewellery made by Margaux Lange. http://www.margauxlange.com/ She uses different parts of barbies body's to create them. Some of her designs are a little creepy, but I kinda like that about them.

Human Hair!  

Necklaces and bracelets made from human hair! Its a good idea but I think I would find it pretty weird walking round with real hair wrapped around my wrist or hanging from my neck. I dont think I would wear them, although I suppose they are just like hair extensions, and I've worn them before! Just seems more strange wearing human hair around my wrist rather than on my head.
